Hi. We have tits using our bird box for the second year, yippee! What I would like to know is will my, intermittent, presence in the garden put them off. The box is in a tree about 10 ft above the ground . I need to get out into the garden to do spring cleaning but yesterday one of the Tits was sat in a tree on the street but not coming to the box. They are nest building at the moment (obviously !! I hear you say) Cheers Chris

My nesting box is only about a foot from my back door which is used regularly. This has never put the bluetits off nesting there.

Not nest building I believe but just looking at possible nest sites. How do you know the one sat in the tree was the one investigating your box. As long as your not constantly near the nest box it shouldn’t be a problem. It’s after they’ve selected the site.

The birds are in and out quite often and the one in the adjacent tree flew into the box when I got out of site. On reflection they probably are not building yet
Have they put an offer in yet gpj? They seem to like it;-)
