Looking through Argos and Curry's, and I think I've found the one, then I read it only has running time of 8 mins :(

Looked at yours Danny, but only had a short run time. Have gone for this one, with 20mins run time. that's more like it, eh Anne? ;)

Hi Bathy - I too was looking for the same for sista - bought two - didn't find them powerful. Tried friend's dyson v6 which was a couple hundred - to me no good.

Not putting you off I do think cordless will never be as powerful as electric.

This is a very good site for lots of good advice and worthwhile buys.
Unfortunately, to get a cordless vacuum worth having, you have to spend quite a lot more.....

My husband bought me a Dyson hand held just before Christmas, brilliant but think it was about £80, my sister has a Hoover one and says it it also brilliant, much cheaper but haven't checked price.
