My husband wants to sell the bachelor pad he had before we married. He's been renting it out but now want to sell.

It's over 100 miles from us now so he's worried about leaving it empty when the tenant moves out.

It would be good if he could sell quickly, what's the best way to go? We've thought about auctions or these house buyers you see advertised but we're nervous.

He knows he will get below market value but does anyone know how much or have ant experiences they could share?

He would still be paying the mortgage after the tenants gone so we're thinking the extra payments might counterbalance the BMV he would get.
I.E. Maybe 6 months mortgage payments without the tenants contribution if we go the traditional route.

Hope that makes sense.

you'll probably get 2/3 of the market price

Oh that's a bit low, might be worth missing several months rent.

Still worried about leaving it empty though.
I have bought several houses by auction..set a reserve price.. quick, clean, no messy chains or pulling out....

Thanks Murraymints.

Seriously considering that. Do they go for much less than MV ? Good for buyers but not for sellers Ha Ha.

Do you have any idea of the costs involved? I've looked on some sites but it is confusing.

We will, of course, get them round when we get the flat back but got s couple of months to go yet so just bouncing ideas around.
Going back a while, a friend of sold his house via auction. Thought it'd go cheaply to a developer but two people wanted it to live in, bid against each other, and he got more than he'd anticipated. All a gamble though.
