Is there any kind of firm that will come in, completely clear a room, and put it in storage while plastering and decorating is completed. As a 60+ single female I don't have the strength to move some of the furniture, and don't have another downstairs room or garage in which to put things. I can box small objects and move them upstairs but only have a small second bedroom. Any practical advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Many house removals firms also offer storage facilities. Look under 'Removals & Storage - Domestic' in the printed Yellow Pages or on their website: https://www.yell.com/ Alternatively, hire a local 'man-and-a-van' service to take everything to and from a storage centre, such as Big Yellow Box https://www.bigyellow.co.uk/ or Safestore...

I would think there were plenty calda, just look in your local directory for furniture removals and try one or two.

Pickford's, hopefully, may be in your area.
I hope you know the the workman. Surly they can move the items for you into the centre of the room. Besides, they can not have two "live" edges of plaster touching when working.

Has anybody new moved in on your street? Ask them if they would recommend the company they used. Believe it not some Estate Agents know of a handyman - sorry handy person to be pc
Get several quote's. Do you receive a local rag magazine as sometimes there are adverts for people with a van.
Have you thought about Age UK?
They have a 'handyperson' service which might be able to help you out.

I also recommand a "man and a van" solution, and store in self storage, http://www.selfstorage.fr
