My ten potted tiger lilies flowered profusely on my outside kitchen window sill over the summer. The foliage has now died down and a week ago, I put the pots on a shelf next to a window in my unheated shed to overwinter. To my surprise, green shoots seem to be emerging from the compost in some of the pots. Is this normal and do I need to do anything about it?

TIA

its not normal but its been a funny year. Now they are sprouting I don’t think there is much you can do...try and keep them growing.
I think the sudden change in temperature has fooled the lilies into thinking that spring has arrived early.
Hopefully they will keep ticking over slowly until the proper spring is here, when they can go back outside again.

I would keep them moist and spray with water occasionally, to deter red spider mite moving in.
