Having replaced the 100watt tungsten bulbs in my lounge table lamps with their LED equivalents I am very disappointed with the resultant light level. The LED bulbs I was sold as direct replacements are 6watt with an emittance of 500 Lumens. Was I correctly advised? Thank you.

Probably need 16 watt led to give 1600 lumens.

light colour has an effect as well. The warmer temperature lights look dimmer than the equivalent cold light temperature lights.

Thank you for the swift replies. It certainly seems that I was not correctly advised.
walking round a clas Olsen store i was amazed to see how many of the same type of light bulbs (led) had differing amounts of lumens on the box,all had the same wattage, different makes and different stated lumens, even the store workers could'nt fathom it out,
Beware of the cheapies - I bought a couple of 10w ones from Wilko, and they have such a painful harsh light that they are unusable.
