I defrosted some fish in the fridge and used it about 3 days ago. I can still smell it. I've cleaned the glass shelf with kitchen spray and after that tried washing up liquid but no good. Any ideas please?

Lemon Juice ??
Buy a fridge freshener.

That's a thought - will try that...
Once you are sure you have cleaned thoroughly, place a small pot of Bicarb at the back - it will absorb any remaining odours.
Question Author
Mama - do you mean some bicarb mixed up with water? Thanks.
lemon juice will neutralise most smells. I usually have a couple of halved lemons in the fridge to frighten away bad odours.

As long as I've got one put by for my GnT
Baking soda, wash the fridge with it and leave an open pot in the fridge it will absorb the smell
No, just dry bicarb in a pot or dish.

Great ideas - thanks all - its driving me bonkers.
It's not the glass shelf that's the problem.....glass (and stainless steel) don't absorb odours. Plastics do - so it's the walls of the fridge that are holding onto the fishy-smelling molecules.
For the same reason, you should not store strong-smelling foods in polythene....always glass or stainless steel.
