Am I Being Unreasonable?

I was just wondering what others thought. Our neighbours' gardeners come every two weeks on a Friday morning and begin work at 8 a.m. We are retired so don't need to be up early and yet we're woken by the noise of the hedge trimmer, lawn mower, strimmer and leaf blower. It's a horrible way to start the day.

Ooooh...someone sounds tired!

I don't think 0800 hrs is a problem, and as you say, it's only one every two weeks, so I would say, Yes you are!
diddums - woken at 8 am once a fortnight (is that early that's a sleep in for most people) ...yes you are being unreasonable.
Are you being unreasonable? Yes

Would it irritate me? Yes

08.00 isn't an unreasonable time, anytime prior to 07.00 would be unreasonable.
I wouldn't like being woken up out my slumber either...
Eight o'clock sounds entirely reasonable, especially as it's only once a fortnight. Our extremely noisy dustbin lorry comes well before 7 a.m. every week, but I can fully understand why they do this given that I live near a busy main road, and also there's a school at the bottom of my street.
cupid -even once a fortnight?
I can see why you're a bit put out but doubt there's much to be done.

Where I live we have strict rules 'No noise between the hours of 9am and 11pm , that may disturb neighbours', unless the works are an emergency - every two weeks I am woken by the noises you describe feet away from my bedroom window.

When I mentioned this, I was told by 'The Management' (I say that in a funny voice) that was different.
Eight o' clock, or even earlier, is the best time of the day in the Summertime. Get up and enjoy it with maybe a cup of day and a nice soft-boiled egg with, as you say, soldiers to dip.
I was just trying to even the score ;-)

Okay, so the majority verdict is that I am being unreasonable - I shall have to invest in some earplugs!! We do tend to go to bed late - 1 am - 2 am - so while 8 am is not early for some, it is for us.
9would be better
My post is badly worded..

//strict rules 'No noise before 9am and after 11pm , that may disturb neighbours', unless the works are an emergency//

///'No noise between the hours of 9am and 11pm ///

But overnight 2300 to 0900 you can be as noisy as you like, yeah?
Too late my dear.
I'm a night owl too, Fox.....so 8am is early for me.....but once a fortnight I would put up with......radio on or head under the pillow.

I feel sorry for anyone trying to make a living working outside this summer so let him have all the hours he can....

Any earlier than eight?......Mmm....turn your hose on him....☺.....x
I thought they'd made that rule, Baldric...to accommodate Mamya's wild parties...... ;-)
"Every 2 weeks?" ...that is only during the summer months and how many of those do you have in a pound in the UK.

Yes...you are being unreasonable.
My quest this week is to seek and destroy the blighter who puts their washing machine on at 3am!!

I have a lead, follow up campaign begins soon.
Update us please, Mamya.....I have a vision of you in your nightie charging in with that stick.......☺
