Some of the leaves on my young silver birch tree are turning yellow and then dropping - how do I know if this is a defiency of iron or magnesium ? - it is 3 years old and has not had this problem before

Any remedies please.

Whilst I do not know I can sympathise. I have a rubber plant doing much the same thing. In my case it is a house plant and a quick web-search suggested I was watering it too much. I'm unsure you can stop the rain outside though :-)
Yes it could be too much rain, cold winds etc...we've had a very mixed climate this year. It could be some kind of fungal disease but you can't spray a tree. Don't worry, I'm sure it'll survive :)

just done a bit more reading and seen that it could be a lack of nitrogen - this is all very confusing.
