best to buy the stuff they walk throughthat takes the poison to the nest and gets them all not just the ones that emerge..get it from B &Q

ant powder round the base of all cupboards, etc. doorways. leave it there, replace it where necessary, for a few days, and that should do it.

I used a combination of ant bait stations and Nippon...get them every which way :)

I'v found that those 'bait stations' that Robinia mentions work well.

It may also be worth having a good look outside to try to locate where they might be getting into the house, often at the foot of the wall, this is where the puffer pack with the white powder comes in handy.

Find the nest ( just follow the trail of ants) and put a few kettles-ful of boiling water down it.
