Apple Trees

I have two apple trees in my garden. One of them still has lots of apples which haven't fallen despite several storms and constant blustery weather. They aren't sheltered in any way. All neighbouring trees lost all their fruit months ago. Will this inhibit next year's blossom and is there anything I should do? I can't climb to remove them and don't know anyone that I would like to ask.

At a guess, it sounds like that one is a late variety.
Maybe you could get a long-arm apple picking tool and test a few for ripeness.
