Someone posted something HILARIOUS on my FB page, regarding money saving tips. It was from a programme called 'Superscrimpers' and they recommended putting toilet rolls on the arms of a wooden rocking chair to avoid wear and tear. Lol.

Do you have any 'good' money saving tips?

I watched that programme once and there was a woman on there who made a 'necklace' out of a cereal box and covered it with glitter. When she had finished it looked.........................................like a necklace that had been made out of a cereal box and covered with glitter!

Lol...that's just daft.

But toilet rolls aren't cheap these days. I wonder whether research would show that particular tip to be a false economy?!

A good talking point though, eh. Bet it looks... er... lovely.

I saw a 'tip' once that said to save money you should separate the two sheets on a toilet roll. Lol
Yuck. Imagine...
No, don't.

Ew. Doesn't bear thinking about... :(
No 1 Stepson has a brilliant money saving tip. He tops up soap dispensers, shampoo bottles and shower gel with water. Now that probably works for a few days, but by the time it is SO watered down it is just water it kind of defeats the object.
Many moons ago when I was nursing in an elderly care unit, I helped a lady to the bathroom. After doing what she had to do, she tore two squares of toilet paper off the roll, blew her nose on it then wiped her bottom with it. As unpleasant as it was, I was just glad she did it in that order!
I can't bear leaving dregs of liquid in the bottom of soap dispensers, sauce bottles, etc. I just have to up-end the old bottle so the leftovers all slide down into the new one.

Some of the bottles of bubble bath in our bathroom are a strange khaki colour, because they are a composite of the dregs of many previous products.

BM, lol. I do that when I've run out of washing up liquid! :)

April, that's just made me feel quite ill :-( lol

Box, but sometimes you just can't get it all out. Especially ketchup!
O you can - a long handled spoon, a finger, a lolly stick......

Ha! Some of those are brilliant.
Must remember this one, the next time I take my bike out...

CYCLISTS: Avoid getting a sore behind by simply placing a naan bread over your saddle. This will comfort your ride and when you return home, hey presto! A warm snack.

I regularly look at my local Freecycle website to see if there anything useful I might want to save myself some money.

However, I wasn't tempted by something I saw on their site last week. Someone was offering a used toilet brush, although they did emphasise that it had been cleaned!

Urghh! That is gross!

Another thing that makes me shudder a bit, is used breast pumps for sale. I don't know why, it just makes me feel a bit 'eww'.
With toothpaste I always cut open the tube, you will be surprised how much paste is still in there which is impossible to get by squeezing.
I've got a good tip.
Some food can be wrapped up & put in the fridge to last longer.

Jubz, I used to do that with foundation. I would go to put some on, realise there wasn't much left, and grab the scissors.
Doesn't really work now it's in a glass bottle.... :-/

Svejk, that is the worst tip ever :P
Must admit I pinched my idea from cabinet minister Richard Benyon (assets;£125million)
