We have an old victoria plum tree whose blossom last year was eaten by wood pigeons. How can I protect this year's blossom which is starting to grow?
Thanks.

Throw a net over the tree, that's what commercial growers do
Are you sure that the pigeons caused the loss of fruit last year? I think it was caused by the extremely wet conditions when the blossom was out.
We have fruit and pigeons here and it doesn't seem to affect the fruiting.
If you have any old CDs try hanging them among the branches, the neighbours will think you have gone mad but it works. My tag seems inappropriate given the subject.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Will try CDs, maybe Christmas tinsel too!
Netting if all else fails.
Plum jam hopefully.
Cheers.
