I have acquired an old garden shed at the allotment and would like to paint it a pastel colour. I don't think it has ever been painted and I don't want to go to too much effort or expense. Please could someone advise the best way to go about it. Many thanks

Old wood in garden sheds etc will absorb paint like ink into blotting paper if it's never been treated before. You probably wont even notice the first coat you put on as it dries, it tends to simply disappear into the wood. Allow for several coats. Personally, I wouldn't go to too much expense. Use up some tins of old paint. You could do stripes or patterns if you don't have enough of a single colour. Always check your allotment agreement first to make sure there's no rules and regulations as to colours etc before you start.
Its an old garden so if u paint it in a good way than it will look beautiful and if u don't wnt to go for more expense so jst paint it not something else...
