I have short straight hair - but have more on top - anyway after you have washed and hot-brushed - can't used tongs or straighteners. Maybe you get a few hours of couple of curls with the help of lacquer. Next day you are like the Magdalene laundry ladies. Is there any thing that could make curls stay in apart from an old maid perm - young people out there would you know. Thanks guys.

Told years ago to get a root perm ie perming at the root to give the hair a rise - am fed up of washing this mop every day.

no help - even a wee tiny bit.
I'm far from being Young People but I suggest you have your thyroid checked - my hair has improved its behaviour considerably since starting on levothyroxine. Alternatively, give up on the curls and use volumising this, that and the other, just to make the hair look fuller. Good luck!
Question Author
don't understand the thyroid business and also volumising - it collapses in a matter of minutes.
I think perns have come on a long way since which twin had the twink ! Have a word at a GOOd and Trendy hairdressers that way you wont get some horrid old lady perm and look like the queen .
Question Author
thanks nanny definitely don't want to look the queen - something high high high up in the sky and easy - maybe I need to get a flite - is that right spelling -
Ask your hardresser about a BodyWave perm, depending on how up to date they are they might recognise the name as a demiwave.
Question Author
by the flite - should have been a kite - that is what I am now high as a kite - only kidding thanks eccles - will write that down - a demi wave.
