My mum has just asked me if i knew how much roughly it would cost for someone to repoint 52 patio slabs, the old mortar has been removed and my mum would buy the new mortar, i have no idea about a price and she has a man coming tomorrow evening to give her a quote.

I just want a rough idea on price so we can compare it with the mans quote she is getting tomorrow.

many thanks

Would imagine it would take 4 or so hours,if it is just pointing, and no levelling to be done. £40 -£50?
Surely £40-50 is a stab in the dark, ther must be a lot of assumptions in your quote ... bongo has given very little information, thats why there has been no replies.

What happens if the slabs are twice the size you think they are ? (twice as much work).
If all the old mortar has been removed, (not an easy job as a rule). How stable are the existing slabs. There's no point in doing a bad job by re-pointing loose slabs.
I'm afraid more info is required before a rough idea can be offered.
Best get in a man or two, to give a quote.
