My dishwasher has died and I'm wondering if it has any scrap value? It's a smaller model that fits under the working surface.

Very little, scrap steel is around £200 a tonne or 20 pence a Kilo. Not worth the cost of collection. The best you could do is get it collected free.
With a bit of luck you might find a special offer where they take an old one in part-exchange - you'd need to shop around.

Well in that case I'll try and get the OH to take it to the tip sometime. Thanks for the anwers.
It is not even worth taking it to the scrap yard, as the steel is contains is worth a few pence.
On the other hand I recently had to scrap a washing machine as the drum bearing had failed, that also has very little scrap value.
But what I did was remove the motor, pump/filter, and module as these parts were all working. I then listed them on ebay as used, and got more than £70 for them ... better than a poke in the eye.!
