Hi all, hope you can help. We somehow managed to get furniture polish on to the cover of our quite expensive sofa. The fabric is a cotton (86%) and nylon mix. Despite the best efforts of our local dry cleaner, the stubborn stains won't budge. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we might remove them without damaging the fabric ? Many thanks

I don't know, sorry, but are you covered for accidental damage on your insurance?
perhaps a throw might solve the problem?
Try methylated spirits
I think if dry cleaners can't .. you are stuck.
Use a very volatile oil like eucalyptus to displace any remaining grease/wax blotting with kitchen paper towels then try a vanish bar and tepid water sponging off in between attempts. is it a spray polish or a tub of tinted wax polish? if the tinted stuff you might find a gentle blast with a hairdryer and blotting might make the eucalyptus oil work better
