I have a 20"x 26" cast iron manhole cover weighing just over 60 lbs. Has anyone any idea how much a srap dealer would pay for this?

TIA

Thanks, Builder
Selling it won't change my life, then?
Shame.
no, can't retire on the strenght of a manhole cover, but I think a post office pllar box might be cast iron and worth a lot more, just need a big van to put it in. my next door neighbour sent Her husband to the scrap yard with Her old ironing board, He got 50p. cost Him a quid in petrol. She was pleased, doesn't like to waste things. She is now saving empty cans, She is very frugal, so probably only opens two cans a week, so will take a hundred years before She gets a £1.

good luck,
annie.
Scrap cast iron is currently~£120/tonne, which makes your 60 lb worth about £3
