And yes I have tried a soapy water solution and a mixture of Jeyes fluid and Maincrop well diluted and still the little devils are there.

Hi thanks for this I shall cultivate a ladybird colony, I did wash all my fruit trees with winter wash but still they come however only on the damson tree, the apple, pears and plums are all fine as are the rose bushes which also are treated annually with rose clear.

We have a number of small birds in the garden which we do feed in the winter I think it must time they learnt to earn their keep!!
