My neighbour, who is a tenant of an housing association, has damaged my path (they have access rights only). The housing association wants to send their workers to fix the path, however, 6 months ago the path subsided, due to the tenants driveway. The housing association sorted the problem then, but now the path is starting to slide again. Am i legally obliged to let them carry out the work or should i gain the money from them to get my own contractor in. Dont know what to do, neighbours and housing association are a bloody nightmare. Thanks
If a neighbour damages something and admits it, he or his representative (Housing Association) must put it right.
I would have thought you are better off letting them do it rather than trying to extract readies from a recalcitrant neighbour.
Wouldnt want the housing association to fix the path, seen the shoddy work theyve done in the past. Tetjam, i may just see about taking them to the small claims court, its obvious the only way to deal with the problems im having with the neighbours, is to get money from their landlord.
