I am thinking of having a new full gas central heating system fitted. Realistically how much mess is there going to be, howmuch of the floor will have to come up - I have mostly laminate or tiled floors

They might be able to run pipes along the base of your walls, but then they'd need to be boxed in. Otherwise, then I guess alot of your flooring in all rooms will have to be lifted in parts.
personally i wouldn't touch a house with laminate flooring as its always risky getting it up without damaging it and then you end up with an angry customer trying to sue you.
as mentioned before the easiest way wold be to run the pipes down the walls and along the skirting boards but that always looks messy
the best thing with having heating installed is to book a weeks holiday and leave the installers the key, when you come back its all done then.
