Finding Tenants online

My tenants have just given their notice cos they are buying a property, over the years i have had a few tenants in my two properties and always had various niggles with the rental agents (they only find them, check them out and draw up agreement). A friend was my most recent tenant and i drew up the paperwork based on previous which i can do again. What i need to know is how to advertise the property for rent on the internet sites that potential tenants would look at. Also how do i get a credit check/rating on an individual? id be grateful if someone can help. thank you
