Painting inside a summerhouse

We have a basic summerhouse which is pretty much a shiplap shed with French doors. It's still just bare wood inside and I was wondering if it would be possible to paint it? I googled it and found answers ranging from only to use a woodstain (such as cuprinol) to just do it in cheap White emulsion, which seems to have turned out fine for a number of people.

Does anyone have experience in this area?

If it's watertight normal paint will be fine. Diluted White emulsion can give a nice distressed shabby chique look.

Recently painted (month ago) the inside of our new summerhouse with emulsion - looks great.

Thanks both for your answers-will give it a go.

I would think twice personally .. Staining would probably be a much better bet.
There will be shrinkage (according to what timber it is constructed with) and this will show as unpainted lines later on.
My advice? Plenty of Danish oil.
