That's a new one on me Dennis. I've never heard of it I'm afraid.
What type of boiler?

Hi TB, it's an Alpha 24 boiler,I'm on an EON service contract, now awaiting a call to inform me when the repair will be done.I had to sign a form to say I could not have it disconnected.Just wondered how serious it is.
Sorry I can't help you Dennis. I've just been right through the manual and I can't find any mention of a heater pad.

No problem TB. My research has also come up negative,I think he must mean the heat exchanger.
Did the engineer put a "AT RISK" sticker on the boiler?
If it is classed as at risk then I cant see how a heat exchanger is at fault as this is normally used for gassing, flueing or safety problems where there is a risk to life. As for heater pad never heard of it, maybe the seal for the combustion chamber is faulty or worn. Good Luck.
Never heard of it .. must be misreading it .. or someone quoted the wrong name.
There are a couple of heat exchangers.
Do they mean the insulation between the boiler chamber and the exhaust / control?
