I have just taken delivery of 4 mini fruit trees and tubs to grow in, one apple, pear, cherry and plum, they look good and healthy and I have planted in tubs as per instructions, soaked roots overnight etc.
Instructions state loads of water for the first week , well I planted them 2 days ago as the weather forecast said lots of rain , will all this rain be enough or do I still have to water even more ?

If you live in the south I hope you have good drainage in the bottom, but no, I think they have had enough rain to last for several weeks, just keep an eye on them and add rain water if we have a sudden Indian Summer.
As we are going into winter they will be turning dormant so will not need watering all winter unless the compost gets bone dry. Make sure they are watered as soon as they begin to wake up in the spring if the rain does not do it for you.
