I bought a Morello Cherry Tree ( the type where you soak the roots first) its about 6ft tall and I wondered if I could plant it in a large pot! If I do, does anyone know how big the pot should be, and will it fruit? My Mum loves cherries and I thought it would be a good pressie for Mother's Day

Thanks

Its a tree so it needs to be in as big a pot as possible...When I got my fig tree it said - pot must be at least 18" across...If the pot is too small it will keep the tree from growing to its full size ... All my trees are in very big deep pots.. But you'll find the pot's not the problem its the amount of soil it takes to fill it up...
I hope your Mum is spritely enough to climb the ladder to harvest her crop of sour cherries From a tree which is already six feet tall!!
