mine have gone the same way for the past 2 seasons, at first i suspected a disease but now i do think its just the rotten weather.
Search around in the compost where they are growing it could be that you have the dreaded root weevil that lives on the root systems. It is a fat white grub that I squash and then I dispose of the compost in the wheelie bin as you can never be sure of findind them all

I think gucciman has given the correct answer.

Furthermore, I read somewhere or other (it may have been in answerbank) that many other gardeners (myself included) have had poor results this year........Ron
I keep my b/l`s in a hanging basket in the greenhouse in windy conditions and hang them out on sunnier days and they are georgeous. So it`s all down to this crappy winds and rain we`re having lately.
I agree shylock...it's the wind and rain.

thanks for your help pray for better weather next summer or perhaps choose alternative bedding
My poor pansies that id grown from seed drown in all that rain, its been a very poor summer for flowers, and i too lost busy lizzies to the weather a few years ago.
