I've a customer who has just come back from somewhere nice and hot, who was told by a very 'helpful' gardener that there is a magic spray that is used to spray shrubs etc 3 or 4 times a year that will keep the mozzies at bay. All I can think is that they would use a normal insect spray during the day that would keep the numbers down while they lurk in the shrubs waiting for their evening meal. Of course, I've got to track this magic juice down - any other ideas anyone? Cheers.

There is a spray called Vape Open Air which is used as a barrier but only lasts up to 8 hours. The product can be found here.

Thanks for that Halkwalk, I think the 'helpful old gardener ' may have been spinning a yarn!
