does anyone know where I can get wood for making raised beds, it doesn't have to be new wood I have tried e-bay no luck yet!

I suggest you use recycled railway sleepers. They are available from builders merchants and architectural reclamation dealers.
A good suggestion by bullpen, they are made out of Australian Jarrow wood, last a lifetime and more,But I used Decking planks, a lot easier to cut to size, and if weatherproofed, lasts years,
