With peat free alternatives becoming evermore important in preserving peat bog habitats, what alternatives have you had success with or, are willing to try ?.
I think a bracken based compost is a good alternative, personally.

I will try anything except cocoa based products as they are dangerous for my dog. The current one I have is wood chip and mushroom compost and seems fine but a bit light which means I have to weight the tubs with bricks or addin garden soil.

I agree about the cocoa, I shall try The bracken, along with the compost that I make myself from bagged up mower clippings, stored in plastic bags and kept for a year. Green waste is now zero here.
