Anyone know why those spikes you can put on bottles filled with water and stuck into the plant pot don't simply drain into the pot immediately (more or less) ? Or maybe they do. I was wondering how good they were keeping the plant watered for days.

Cheers

I use them in my big planters outside and they drip into the pot rather than cascade. Sometimes the bottle gets blocked with leaves but a quick poke with a meat skewer removes them.

I had some in the garden which I collected and brought inside for the rubber tree plants; that do not like being left and were shedding far more yellow leaves than is good for them. But I had visions of the whole bottle draining in hours. Hoping they last days, weeks even.
