Frustrating I know, cats poo in gardens, often other peoples. I've been on the receiving end before we had cats and accepted it as part and parcel of modern life.

We have 2 cats which no doubt do the same in other peoples gardens. Just noticed someone has deposited cat poo on the windowsill of our porch. Have cleaned it up but it has discoloured the UPVC material.

will invest in a motion activated camera to see who the culprit is.

My question is how do I go about handling it? Cant keep the cats in 24/7.

I think Boold understands but it's where they are returning it to that's the problem.

I don't blame them. Sometimes cats come and pee in our garden and it absolutely stinks.
First off, can it be proved that it is one of your cats poo.

Sounds just the thing....LoL
I don't blame them either. teach your cats to use a litter tray.

Jeez! is it 'self righteous' Tuesday on AB?

Tony - there are lots of cats out and about - not sure if they know if definitely ours.

any sensible answers?
Why don't you buy them a cat sacrer and suggest they chuck some orange peel on their garden? I think they've got a cheek - how do they know it's poo from your cats?
training them to use a cat box is a sensible answer .x
Yes, tuesday, wednesday, thursday and the rest.
I inherited my Mum`s cat and before I fitted the cat flap, the cat had to use a litter tray. I used to empty the litter tray under a certain bush in the garden. After the cat flap was fitted, the cat went out and she goes to the loo in the area where litter was deposited. It might be worth trying that.

they were litter trained when they were kittens. Now they are out in the 'big wide world' they are unlikely to come back in to use the litter tray.

In that case if you find out who deposited it on your windowsill post it back to them.
Is there any way that you could stop your cats from getting out of your garden?

You could talk to whoever it was and see if they could deter your cats. If a camera is possible to site do it. You could always leave a note on the windowsil and see if there is a reply.

This may be a one-off incident of poo return but it shows that there is a problem.

Is there any way one of the cats left it there - they can be strange animals.

Take no notice Booldawg, I expect whoever did it took advice off AB which seems to have a higher proportion of cat haters than the national average. I really don't think there's anything you can do about your cats. It's a fact of life.
I'm with divebuddy on this one. If you own a cat how can you moan about cat poo, whereever it may be. How do you know it wasn't the cat which put it there PMSL.
Motion activated camera. Haaaa!

I can understand why TBH just because we have cats doesn't mean I don't sympathise with them.

Looks like they've chucked it at the window at its fallen onto the windowsill.
You seem quite happy for your cats to stink up other people's gardens but when someone deposits cat poo on your property, you are outraged.

I am now going to sit in the so called self righteous corner
lol @ motion activated camera. Personally i think they've got a cheek
