Can any one please identify this shrub seen at Scone Palace in July.

It looks like some variety of tropoleum (sp?)....I'll investigate :)

Thanks Robinia. I've just Googled tropoleum and it looks like you've sorted it for me - they call it TROPAEOLUM.

This is a picture of it in situ. I think you're right, it is growing up through the other shrubs.

Thanks again for your speedy help and yes, it is lovely. We've never knowingly seen it in England.
It's beautiful grown like that, I don't remember seeing one for real either. It's Chelsea week, what's the betting there'll be some on there now it's been talked about? :)
tropaeleum is a bitof a devil to get going. it needs a long cool root run and its head in the sun so deeply culivated earth in shade with a sunny aspect. growing through thick shrubbery will suit it well.
and i have spelt it wrong too....
