How do you get them on the little blighters?
Question Author
Would have to be from a great distance with a barge pole!
I've not tried them, they look like slug pellets in fancy containers.

I find with slugs, you have to aim for damage limitation, best thing I've found so far are spent coffee grounds, which are toxic to mollusks.
Its very damp around our farm and I have never seen such huge slugs, you could saddle them and ride them!
We use a bagged slug and snail killer here in the U.S. We found one that's pet friendly but it needs to be replenished after a rain, which, during this last season was frustrating. It does work... smells vaguely of beer which does work to entice the critters when placed in shallow foam bowls near the base of the plants. But, again, it depends on how aggressive one wants to be to keep it replenished and keep Fido out of it...
Save all your egg shells and put them around the base of your Hostas, the little blighters don't like slithering over the pointy bits. If your Hosta is up against a wall then pull it away coz they crawl up the wall and lean across, also I found that going in my garden after dark with a torch I catch the little horrors red handed, I scoop them onto a shovel and pout liberal amount of salt on them, they don't like that very much.....sorted.
pour salt..
