Earlier this year I planted 3 mini fruit trees in a patio we didnt use any more.I later also planted a marigold in each corner where the trees were, see photo http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=33vc6mp&s=6
Due to the feed i have given to the trees the Marigolds have grown enormously ,although they look good i am worried that they are taking the goodness out of the soil which is meant for the trees.
What do you Abers think.?

Wouldn't the tree roots be deeper?
Nice garden, by the way

Thank You Mark, yes the tree roots are much deeper so maybe I shouldn't worry.Hoping we might get some fruit next year.
The amount of rain we've had this summer could be playing a part, everything in my garden seems to be bigger than usual this year.
