Do ants damage plants. My last garden had slug problems now this one has lots of ants.
I have put ant powder down. Is there anything else i can do to get rid of them.

They can damage the roots, but otherwise I don't mind ants - they keep down greenfly by farming them. Red ants bite, what sort are yours?

Find the nest and cover the area in powder, try and puff the powder right down inside the nest.

Pour a boiling hot kettle of water into the nest.

The ants are normal black ants. I can't find a nest. The post were stood on the patio and when I moved them, they were all underneath.

I would leave them alone outside they don't do any harm.
