Hi, I have recently bought this........

http://www.homebase.c...and+Outdoors|16849255

I knew it would be a b*gger to keep clean but fell in love with it. Bought and delivered with in 3 days....lovely. Next day I noticed loads of scratches on it that weren't there when I got it. I rang Homebase and they replaced the glass.
At the time I asked if any other customers had the same issue and they said no, but the offered a full refund, replacement or discount,
Just gone into the garden and the new one is scratched!!! I had been covering it but left the cover off last night...can only assume....following the paw prints that a cat has got on it.
So my question is what would you do? Sure glass should not scratch so easily!!!!

Thats easily done, I know. If it's got no air bubbles and its completely sealed at the edges it's impossible to see. If it is the actuall glass scratching then I'd want a refund because it's obviously fit for purpose.

Hi, No, no protective film but I'm thinking of getting one put on it!!!
The thing is I live the table, I bought some jewellers rouge on Ebay to see if that will cove r the scratches as I can't find another table that I like....thinking of trying to get a major discount on it...I paid £500.ouch!

Obviously I 'love' the table not 'live' it....although it is becoming a bit of an obsession right now!!!

Lol....might stop the cat from getting on it...I swear it's looking at it's reflection!!!

I have got coasters and place mats for it.... But why should I have to keep covering it up. The whole point of paying so much for it was because it looks beautiful [in my eyes]....really peed off!

Well I'm not a cat person but don't they have their claws retracted when walking...in which case could it be foxes climbing on it? Sorry it doesn't solve your problem, it's a nice garden set.
maybe its not glass.... maybe its polycarbonate... or perspex?
That would scratch REALLY easily..
To be honest I know you love it - but it will look awful by the end of the year. Maybe you need to consider something else! Or go and get another top cut at a glaziers out of better quality glass?
