I have 3 of these that have sprouted in my border. We've only lived in this house a few months so I dont know if these are plants that were planted by the previous occupier or if its a weed.

Have you got a sycamore tree nearby? It looks like the sycamore seedlings I had all over my front lawn last year.
Yup, Sycamore - get rid!
Question Author
Is a sycamore one with blossom on? If so then yes, im currently chopping it down
I don`t know if they are in flower. My neighbour had a sycamore tree and I had dozens of those sprouting seeds over my lawn last year. The new owners have chopped the tree down now thank goodness.
Sycamore doesn't have blossom and has a maple shaped leaf. Doesn't look like it to me but I'm no expert.
Looks like a tree seedling....scoop it out in a soil ball and use it as a bonsai experiment........very calming.
Doesn't look like a sycamore seedling to me either, wrong shaped leaf as Prudie says.
But....it does look like a tree seedling, so I'd grub it up quickly before it gets too big.
Sycamore has small greenish yellow flowers in bunches - it's not an unpleasant tree, if you've got room for it, but therer are much nicer ones,
It could be .. Bit early to tell .. but looks like a tree sapling

The picture that the OP has put up has the same two little pea-shoot type leaves that sycamore seedlings have. The leaves then sprout from the middle of these.
They are the seed leaves and are similar with many plants.
So identifying the plant leaves at an early stage is difficult, as the leaves are still forming their adult features.

It does look like a sycamore seedling. Ive just been browsing googling and found a few pics that matched. There must be a sycamore around here somewhere. I have a tree, well its near enough a stump now, in the garden and these are shooting up around it. My tree (stump) still has a branch but there is blossom on it.
Sycamore have those whirly seeds that come down but it's difficult to say for sure. I have a Japanese anemone or something like that, its leaves are very similar and it grows straight from the ground, no surrounding greenery at the base, it has a daisy like flower (mine is pink). I don't know where it came from, except we had the garden mulched quite heavily last year.
Can you describe the blossom? If it's pink or white it could be one of several ornamentsl cherries, almonds, allsorts.
you haven't recently sent your son to sell a cow have you?
If you dig it up you may find the seed case or shell which will go a long way to identifying it. It looks a bit like a cherry to me.

Its a light pink flower. Ill take a photo of it tomorrow
Your pic is definitely sycamore, you don't want that in your garden!
