The best stuff to descale central heating systems?

According to a heating engineer I have a lot of scale in my pipes from the pump to the boiler, he said before getting someone out to powerflush it through he suggests using a descaler to break it down, can anyone suggests a really powerful cleaner that I can use, thanks in advance.
