Paint bubbles

I edcorated my house and now I have noticed in one room there are bubbles on the wall. Like bubble wrap. Paint bubbles that when you press them, cave in!

It looks horrid and I need to get rid of them. How do I go about this? And is there a simple way or does it involve stripping all the paint and starting all over again?

Thanks

sounds like you painted over some wallpaper
Does, doesn't it Norman? Even if you've stripped the wallpaper, the teensiest pieces left on the wall can cause this. The remedy is to strip it again, and make sure there are absolutely no bits of paper left on the surface.
Also, make sure the surface is absolutely dried out before applying paint. Damp spots can cause this, too.

'Preparation is 9/10ths of re-decoration', as my Mum used to say.
It sounds like somthing is reacting with each other to me.

Wallpaper?
Why on EARTH did the previous owner do wallpaper? It was a new house.
God, I'm starting to hate the previous owner.
Sounds like a big job to sort out. There was I thinking I;d lobbed the paint on too thickly and it'd bubbled.

Thanks for the advice... :-)
