the light fitting is not the same as the new one the wires are 2 black and 2 red no earth but all the others on the top floor have loads of wires and are earthed the old one clips into the ceiling rose the new one has 2 brown wires and loop fitting

sorry, i have no understanding of what you mean. Sentances might help. What is your question?
im slightly relictant to offer advise...however

old wiring colors equate to

old black = new blue = Neutral
old red = new brown = live

PLEASE use an electrician, dead people will be unable to access answer bank....
I am an electricain and if you could rephrase your question in english then will try to help you out here........
Try to re-write your problem a little clearer. Are you trying to replace a light? Is there more than one light switched on with this switch? Do the blue and brown wires in your 'new one' go to a hanging pendant? Or is this a different type of fitting, i.e. for decorative purposes? Some of us may be anle to shine a little light on your problem after that! If all else fails get a reputable electrician in your area to fit it for you as I do encounter some 'different' ways to fit lights from time to time! Good Luck
