Can anyone tell me how to isolate the water supply to my boiler which has packed up? The leak is inside coming from the heat exchange and is almost en-repairable. The water is constantly dripping into the kitchen.

You do not need to turn off the main stop tap to the house. You can simply turn the valves that are on the pipes direcectly underneath the boiler there will be two large 22mm valves which are the CH flow and the return and also there will be a small 15mm valve that will shut of the hot tap water from the boiler aswell . there will of course be another valve under there but this will be the gas valve. it also may take a while for it to stop dripping as it is under pressure and also there will be a bit of water in there.
