Is there a way to clean the external side of sash windows from the inside? As soon as I lift the sash obviously I can't access the outer part of the lifted bit. Does it make sense?

Hi elka, There might be a little screw on the left side of bottom window and a hinge on the right, If so, unscrew and remove the wood down the side , this should enable you to swing sash inwards. You would have to lean out to clean the upper half. Other than that I'm afraid it will have to be a window cleaner. cheers skylight
One option might be a magnetic window cleaner which sits either side of the glass. Put the phrase into Google for more info.

Hope this helps.
