Kitchen-Sink Taps

I am preparing to fit new bits and pieces in the kitchen. I am currently looking for a tap, possibly with a pull-out 'shower' head.
Most appear to be chrome-finished.
I would appreciate advice from those who have experience with kitchen-sink taps made from other alternative materials, brushed nickel, for instance.

Just a matter of personal choice, gl. There's certainly no need to stick to chrome. I can't think of any potential problems...........
