Modernise Bathroom Tiles... What's Best?

We have uncracked but old fashioned print tiles in the bathroom, we would like to get something done to modernise. We can't afford to re-tile the whole bathroom, so was thinking of painting them.

Good idea? What paint to use? What's the coverage like? Will it look smooth or will it look like they've been painted?

Any other options out there?

Thank you!

You know you can tile on top of tiles?

I didn't know that but we can't afford to re-tile :/
There are specialised tile paints. Try your local DIY shop.
A few decades back when I was buying my first house, I used tile paint to paint over the kitchen tiles. Worked well. Yes a smooth paint job does tend to look like paint, but that's the idea isn't it ?
