How Do You Clear A Tamper Light On A Scantronic 500+ Security Alarm?

Five years ago we had a 500r+ wire free alarm system installed. The first battery in a PIR system needed replacing recently. However, in the user guide we cannot find how to unset the system.
After trying several ideas unsuccessfully, we removed the casing to the PIR, which then activated the tamper lights on the control panel.
We would be grateful if anyone knows :
1. how to clear the tamper lights on the control panel
2. how to unset the system (for future replacement of PIR batteries)
