Does anyone out there have one of these hoses - and can you fit them back to front? Because my new one is working in reverse i.e. when I switch the water on to start spraying my garden, the hose is constantly trying to shrink its way back to the tap..So I pull it out to the length its supposed to extend to and switch on and it does it again, shrinking back to the tap..Any ideas?

If at first you don't get an answer...
No experience but they get dire reviews everywhere (which is why i have no experience, I read the reviews!). You are also not supposed to forcibly stretch them, they are supposed to expand as they fill with water. I m betting that for some reason no water is getting into yours.
If you ran those hoses that you can fit into a plant pot
Forget it or you can come and take mine for free
It's rubbish
Kate ......... there's probably a check valve in it somewhere (a non-return valve)

It's because of a water by-law, to prevent any chance of dirty water syphoning back into the mains.

So, if it's the wrong way around .................. ;o)

I can't say I've any experience of these "fancy" hoses, so it's only an idea.

Thank you all for your suggestions..The funny thing is I bought a knock off one 2 years ago from a market stall for a tenner and it worked perfectly (but its got a leak in it now) So I thought buying the real, thing for £25 should not be a problem..Just got my money back and bought another one just in case the last one was a dud, and its doing exactly the same... Read lots of reviews most people have said, great, brilliant... Oh well back to Robert Dyas...
These things are fine when new but tend not to last that long. The inner membrane degrades and gets weak, and if the hose gets any damage/starts to leak- it can't be repaired.
