Is there a easy way to clean a marble gravestone other than the expensive service provided by the stonemasons? I don't want to harm the marble but will something like Jif help?

Thanks

I usually take a bottle of warm water with me and a squeezy bottle of flash liquid. Always rinse off well. Makes a good job.
Marble can stain, and I'm unsure I'm be too keen to use anything abrasive. Soap and water is what I'd try in your shoes.
diluted bleach, keep away from the inscription, warm water (take a big flask) a green scourer used lightly for really bad stains and a lot of love.
My Dad's headstone is black granite and I just use soapy water and a scrubbing brush to remove dirt and green algae (or whatever it is called). That does the job nicely without damaging the stone.
Buy a tub of ceramic hob cleaner, this is not as abrasive as Jif, just rub with some water and a J cloth. I get it from Tescos

Easyclean stone cleaner is very good,Ben using it on a headstone for years. One application keeps stonework clean for months.
As suggested soapy water is the least abrasive way and a no toostiff brush, avoid inscription if possible as it can easily tarnish.
Hi Danny,is that readily available?
