Mars is the Roman god of war. The two moons that orbit the planet of the same name are Phobos and Diemos (Fear and Terror).
Phobos and Deimos are Greek words: they were the sons of Ares, the Greek god of war - equivalent of the Roman Mars - and Aphrodite.
